Suzanne Schnittman, PhD, local historian, writer, and public speaker, presents “Provocative Mothers and Their Precocious Daughters: All Friends of Antoinette Brown Blackwell,” as part of the Antoinette Brown Blackwell Society’s Celebration of the 200th anniversary of Blackwell’s birth. Suzanne uses letters and diaries to tell the story of 19th century women’s rights leaders. Those featured in her book of the same title all considered Antoinette Brown a close friend. Mother to five daughters, Brown lends her insight to motherhood along with that of her colleagues, including plenty of engaging accounts of her own family.
