The Antoinette Brown Blackwell Society is happy to announce the call for nominations for the 2026 Henrietta Woman of the Year award. This award is given in memory of the first ordained woman minister in the United States, Antoinette Brown Blackwell, who was born and raised in Henrietta, New York.
Any woman who is presently a resident of Henrietta and has demonstrated leadership qualities and community service is eligible for this award. The award recognizes a woman who has, through her volunteer contributions beyond those related to her work, acted as a role model for the community.
Nominations must be received by March 6th, 2026 by mailing the form, found here, to ABB Woman of the Year Committee, PO Box 133, Henrietta NY 14467 or by email to the nominating chair Jenny Smith (jmariel4949s@gmail.com).
The Woman of the Year Award will be presented on May 20, 2026 at the Henrietta Town Board meeting.
